Quilts, Quilts and more Quilts

Getting ready for the Craft fair.....

Quilt tops I have put together, but not completed...will have to wait until I get back home and have my big (and wonderful) table to put them on to finish.......

What do you do in Florida when you are stuck inside for weeks at a time?
I quilt....I love to quilt....I make quilts for Project Linus....
This year, so far, I have completed 10 quilts for PL...
all sizes, all patterns.....fun! fun! fun!

A quick update....

After many emails and phone calls to see if all was OK, I decided I had
better take the time to update our blog.
For those who enjoy pictures, rather than words, sorry....my camera
is acting up again so the picture taking has been minimal.
The time has been flying by...we can't believe more than
half of our Florida time is behind us.
Compared to you Northerners, our weather has been nothing to complain about,
but to (us) Floridians, it has been a terrible winter.
Our 1st 6 weeks were wonderful...warm, sunshine, lots and lots of
outdoor time....but just before we left on our Cruise on the 20th of December,
it took a turn for the worse and has not changed. We have experienced a nice day
now and then, but 80% of the time, it has been either bitter cold, windy, rainy
just lots and lots of inside time.
Last weekend we went over to the Chowder Fest in the Port.
Thankfully, it was under cover...It was fun...lots and lots of
chowders to taste ... just lots of food to experience.
It was good to get out of the Condo...

Everyone was in a party mood!Myself with Marie and Arlyn

John and Linda

Guy is bored! He has been having trouble with his feet and
can't manage the walking or bike riding that he enjoys so much.
His exercise time is limited so he is a little restless, to say the least.
He has taken out his fishing pole a couple of times, fished once,
Tuesday afternoons he goes to the Elks Lodge to help with
their Tuesday night fundraiser dinners...
He went out with Terry and John one day to Patrick
and shot a bucket of golf balls.....
Here is an example of having too much time on your hands...
He took pictures of the license plates in the parking lot...
for some reason, he got a kick out of these sitting side by side...

and then the sun came out for about an hour, so
he took himself a little catnap....
If I could put sound on this blog, you would
hear lots of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's
When he woke up, he told me he couldn't
sleep, he just closed his eyes...
I have proof that shows a different picture....

When the weather turned frigid in the middle of January,
we couldn't bring ourselves to put the heat on...it just didn't
feel like it was the right thing to do.....
so I took out my flannel fabric and made him a nice
warm quilt to wrap around him at night.
We have leather furniture, which is cold,
so he was able to snuggle up and stay cozy.
We took a ride up to Port Orange, picked up Joyce and Jerry
and drove over to Ocala for the annual So Portland
High School reunion get together
Class of 1955-56 & 57

Also belong to the monthly Book Club, Lunch Bunch and a member of
the Social Committee...and somehow got put in charge of the
Craft Fair and Yard Sale to be held in March...
(still can't figure how that happened)..
We both join the Beach cleanup committee every other Saturday.
so....no grass is growing underneath our feet.....
So far we have not had any company .... which is extremely different from our former
winters down here. Nichole is the only person who has made a committment to visit and I am so looking forward to seeing her again. Again, unlike former years, I am lonely and almost ready to head back to Maine.....
Hurry up Nichole....we have lots of plans for you.....
