Saturday was Beach cleanup

Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day.
We showed up, along with the other 2 couples that usually clean the beach with us....We start down by our units, along Shorewood and end up on George King Blvd, where we stop and have breakfast at Port Galley Restaurant. From there we walk over to Jetty Park and onto the Beach
then back up to Shorewood and head to Solana Lakes.
The total time takes about 2 hours, which passes quickly while
we do our community service and enjoy each others company
at the same time.
The picture above speaks for itself...
Who does the picking of the trash?? and who does the relaxing??
I rest my case!!

Kay gets right into the thick of it....

Marie and Kay find a stash of bottles and debris....

Friday night at Tammy & Joe's

Tammy & Joe run a popular catering business in upstate New York.
Joe is the cook and Tammy is the chief bottle washer.
They invited us over for a wonderful Shrimp Stir-Fry.

After the feast, we sat around and played games.
Joan is reading the rules

It was a fun night and we hurt from laughing so much....

Valentine's Day surprise

Fedex rang the doorbell with a Valentine Surprise from Guy.
A Vermont Teddy Bear that I quickly named "Molly".
She came in a special shipping crate that even had a breathing hole...
I love her even though we are discovering she gets into mischief from time to time...

Afternoon at the National Seashore

Saturday 13th, we spent the afternoon at the National Seashore & Preserve on Merritt Island with Arlyn and Marie. It was another cool day, but we bundled up and enjoyed the sun and surf. As we drove along BiLab Road, we spotted only 7 alligators...they are usually lying along the banks sunning themselves, but guess these cold temps we have been experiencing are a bit too much for them to be out and about.....but.....where do they go to keep warm?? Hummm guess we should google that....
Ice all along the water line.....

I wore my heavy Alaskan sweatshirt for a reason.....

Arlyn is committed to Sea Turtle preservation and has spent many, many hours this past month helping to round up the turtles and bring them to warmer waters, returning them later, having saved many of their lives.

It was a fun afternoon, ending with a nice meal at Rusty's....

Lunch Bunch

The Lunch Bunch meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month..and we went to
Vintage 56 in Rockledge. It was a good choice, I enjoyed a wonderful bleu cheese chopped salad...the service was great and all the Ladies chatted and got caught up on the latest at Solona Lakes.

A few of us went across the road after the meal
for a shopping experience at my favorite shop....
The Quilt Place....

Always a fun day when food and quilting are combined:)

Writing Class

Tuesday mornings the Writing Class meet in the Clubhouse. The teacher is Georgette, a Snowbird from Upper New York State, who is a retired teacher of 33 years.
It is a actually a Memoir Writing Workshop, which I absolutely love, love, love!!

I am putting together memories of my life, to be written and bound in a book to be given to my 2 Daughters and Grandchildren. So far, I have written 2 stories, both of which have been centered around my Mom. I hope they enjoy reading it as much as I am enjoying writing it.

Endeavor lifted off on Feb. 8th

Picture of Endeavor liftoff on Monday, Feb. 8th....we saw it from the Condo....not quite as grand as this photo, but nevertheless, still spectacular...we never get tired of viewing these magnificent shuttles.
