After Spencer, Rick, and GF spent the night on the boat last Saturday night, Uncle Paul brought over all the fixins' for breakfast. He also brought his Waffle Griddle and and boy, those waffles sure tasted good out in the fresh salty air. After everyone's belly was full, it was time to jump in the boat and go fishing!
Spencer was at the helm (of Seabatt & Big Papa Cuz)

Blue Angels
Since Sea-bbatical is still prop-less, Kathy & Bill Smith were gracious enough to invite us to join them on Sunday to watch the Blue Angels performing at the Brunswick Naval Air Station. We rafted with "Pressure Drop" at Middle Bay off Harpswell.
It was such a beautiful, cool, crisp (almost) Fall day..you could see forever. We enjoyed a picnic lunch before the show began at 3PM.
The Angels were awesome, like always. A great day to spend with our boating friends.

Divers bring up damaged prop
They dove down to see what damage was done to the prop on Labor Day Weekend. It will take a week to get it fixed and back on Sea-bbatical so we can continue the final days of our boating season. In case anyone is wondering what we did with our lottery winnings.....$$$$$$$$$$$...
3 guesses where it went??? Oh well...life goes on....

Labor Day Weekend
After small craft warnings were lifted, we left for Robin Hood Marina in Georgetown, Me. about 11AM on Saturday morning. We travelled the 43 nautical miles in a little under 4 hours. Seas were choppy with 15-20 MPH westerly winds. We caravaned with Lazy Daze (Arlene & Gary) and Pressure Drop (Tony & Charlene).
We enjoyed beautiful scenery on our way up the Kennebeck River...BIW, Lighthouses, Ft. Popham, fishing villages and many "summer" cottages.
Someone decorated our boat with a new (pink) mascot...guess "they" figured it would match our tacky palm tree.
Robin Hood Marina
Robin Hood Marina turned out to be a 1st class operation. Very friendly - had free coffee and papers in the library every morning. Free courtesy car available (we used it to go into Bath for charcoal when we found out we couldn't cook on our grill on the boat). They had a library, museum, clean showers and rest rooms, wonderful restaurant and bar. Very scenic...
One of the deck hands working there for the summer is a meteorologist stationed @ Antarctica...very interesting young man. We enjoyed chatting with him. Saturday evening we ate at the Osprey Restaurant.
We left the marina early Monday morning. Seas were 4'-6' every 9 seconds, with a westerly wind. It was a very rough ride. The inside cabin really took a beating...the couch moved away from the wall and landed halfway across the living room.
Just before we got to "Chunk of Pork", we hit a submerged object which knocked out our starboard engine. The seas were heavy and throwing us around. Guy went down to check and make sure we weren't taking on water while I tried my best to steer the boat and keep it under control.
Thankfully, we weren't taking on water and Guy was able to restart the engine, kicking it in reverse to see if we'd picked up any lines in the prop. Negative! so we proceeded slowly at clutch speed toward home.
Home port sure looked welcoming to us... The journey took us over 5 hours...We had a drink, some lunch and then the cleanup began.
Trying to help, I stood our Palm tree up that had been abused during our voyage - only to have it fall over into the drink. I was able to retrieve the trunk, but the top fell to the bottom. One of our neighbors, seeing our dilemma, grabbed his fishing pole and with his 50# line was able to fish it out.
We won't be going out for another ride soon until we can get a diver down to check out what damage occurred. ($$$$$) and we'll be sure to check the marine forecast before we leave the dock again.....
Andrew turns 21
Our oldest Grandson, Andrew turned 21 yesterday.
Where did the time go? Naturally, we're pretty proud of him. He'll be leaving on the 9th for Colby-Sawyer, where he'll be a Junior this year. He had a great summer...worked at Hamilton Marine (talk about putting a kid in a candy store!!). He spent endless hours fishing on the ocean with his best bud...his Dad. We'll miss him when he leaves and hope to be able to follow him while he plays basketball this Fall. His team is scheduled to play in the Holiday tournaments in Tampa, Fla. between Christmas and New Years. We're hoping that things work out and we can go down and watch him then. Good Luck, Andrew:)

Just 1 number away from winning the Megabucks!
Guy came out on the deck the other day with his Megabucks tickets in one hand and newspaper in the other. He smiled as he handed me the paper and proudly said "I think we just won $40.00, here check the numbers again for me.". I did and agreed we had 4 of the 6 numbers.
A couple of days went by and he decided to cash in our winnings at the local filing station. He called me from there and said..we were wrong...we didn't have 4 numbers...we had 5! Instead of winning $40.00 bucks, we won a $1000.00......We had both missed that 5th number...
We're certainly happy with the winnings. (It will help Guy's depleted Boat Fund)..and are not trying to think just how close we came to winning the $600,000.00 jackpot.
