It doesn't get any better than this...

Charlene and I met at Rita's house Friday morning
and we headed to Center Harbor, NH to visit Keepsake Quilting.
With list in hand, I was able to find almost everything I needed
to finish my Christmas projects.
The clerks there are so helpful...and were even happy
to take our picture.

Lunch at the Canoe restaurant after
our shopping experience.

Saturday we gathered again....this time for Project Linus Blanket Day
held at Prides Corner Congregational Church in Westbrook.

It's always a fun time to gather and make a blanket (or two)
for Project Linus.

Charlene finished the cutest Ronald McDonald
print...Some child will just love it!

Hannaford Bros. contributed coffee and pastries
and Subway brought us sandwiches and drinks.
Local businesses sponser the Blanket days
and are very generous with their donations.

This weekend, Janet & Al drove up from Conn. to spend some time with us.
There are only a few more days left of summer and we were
blessed with a beautiful sunny, but chilly, day.
Guy took us for a ride around the Islands...
Safely back at the slip, Al & Janet signed the guest book

They took us out to dinner at the Outback...
Delicious!

After a big Sunday breakfast, they headed home.
It was good to see them again and we had such a good time:)

Saturday evening after dinner, we went down to "Evelyn's"
where Mike Cousins was celebrating his 50th Birthday...

Navy Buddies come to town

These are a special group of people.
These are the guys that Guy grew up with, joined the Navy with and they still keep in contact,
getting together at least once a year.
We lucked out with the weather and it turned out to be a perfect boating day.
Our plans were to boat out to one of the Islands for lunch, but we forgot that
after Labor Day, everything shuts down:(
So we changed our plans and went to the Salt Water Grille, which is
right next to our Marina....
After enjoying a wonderful lunch, we boarded Sea-bbatical and toured
Casco Bay

This is what I love to do....

People ask me what I do all day now that I'm FULLY retired...
Well...there's not enough hours in a day to get it all done..... I picked up this pattern at the Maine Quilt Show...It's a "birdie bag" by Amy Butler
and is so easy and fun to make....I think I've made 6 of them so far....
Hanaha is modeling this one for me......
I've been making (and selling) these cute little wine coasters..
You just slip the stem of your wine glass in them and it protects your furniture..

some for Halloweeen....

I've received several orders for Christmas sets....
A set of 4 coasters and a Wine Bag for $15.00
Anyone interested in buying one (some), let me know and I'll gladly send them off to you....
I have them in dozens of colors and themes....

Once Guy retired and he didn't need his office for his computer and files anymore, I moved my desk, computer and "stuff" into his old office and we both use it now...
so that left an open space in the dining room area to fill...
I moved my rocking chair there, bought a nice little braided rug,
got a stand and lamp and voila! a cozy little corner to sit and read....
But the space on the wall needed filling, so I've decided to make
seasonal wall hangings....

Here's the first one..

and while Guy was at the air show on Sunday, I made
a matching table runner.....

The neighbor is our back yard has a beautiful flower garden
and told us to pick whatever we wanted...
So...Julie and I clipped ourselves a nice little
bouquet on Sunday....

One of our boating friends, picked some fresh Maine blueberries
and gave us a bag full....so I made a couple of pies....
Life is good:)

The Blue Angels

Sunday morning Guy took Rick, Spencer, Hannah, Brenda, Sam and Aleina to see the Blue Angels at Brunswick Naval Air Station.
It was questionable whether they would be going, as Tropical Storm Hannah blew threw our neck of the woods Saturday night, dumping a little over 5" of rain.
But the sky turned blue and it was a lovely warm Fall day.
Spencer forgot his hat so his Dad had to get him one....but Spencer...why did you pick an Army hat with your GF in the Navy and Coast Guard???

Parachuters in the sky after leaving their plane....

Sam and Spencer visiting one of the exhibits

The Virtual Army Experience Van
It was a virtual combat eperience including helicopters, humvees and
troop carriers.
Isn't this spectacular?

They all had a wonderful day

Boating excursions this past week

We are taking advantage of the nice weather that has come our way this past week by
taking a couple of boat outings. There are so many dogs at our marina, some great pets and others not so great.....Here's one of the "good guys" diving in the water to chase a couple of ducks floating by.....A good action shot!
Tuesday we took the Linscott Family out for a ride around the islands and then moored at Cow Island for snacks and beverages.
Here's Sid enjoying the the great Maine air.

These are friends of Betty & Wes...Tina and Will.
Will is a terrific mechanic and was instrumental in getting Sea-bbatical back in running
condition this Spring......We are so grateful to him....

Taken from flying bridge...l to r..Wes, Sid, Joni and Carolyn

Time to eat:)
Mary, Al and Sid
Al & Betty

Thursday we brought the Aspinall's out for a spin....
This is Irma's sister, Bertha.
She had a great time and was grinning from ear to ear the entire ride.
Guy had her sit up on the flying bridge on the way back home...she was
in her glory:)
We were able to tie up at the same mooring again..
Lloyd and wife Linda.
We enjoyed a light lunch....
Linda and Bertha
Lloyd and Linda again....

Finally....a picture of Guy....he's getting out his Log
for everyone to sign. He's been doing this since we
got Sea-bbatical 4 seasons ago.
another beautiful sunset to end a nice evening...
