We're Exhausted!
Per usual, we have spent another busy Winter here at Cape Canaveral. The complex we live at, Solona Lake, has a lot to offer and we do take advantage of it. We have made many friends here and because of it, live an active social life. The past few weeks we have been on the go.....
I'm doing a "catch-up" of our activities this past month.Thursday, March 24th, we were invited to a Cocktail Party at Vic & Jean's (in Bldg A)...They are on the 3rd floor, with a completely different view.
Everyone but the photographer is in this photo.
l to r, Me, Marcy, Vic, Linda, Arnie, Jean, Georgette, Dick and John.

Guy volunteered to help build a Handicap bench and deck on the entrance to our beach....by the time they had finished and were putting their tools away, there were already people using it. It was well worth the effort and is already a much needed popular spot.
I began my day by going to Water Aerobics at 10AM. Then joined The Lunch Bunch at noon where we headed to Merritt Island at a favorite local spot, Merritt's Table. It was a little pricey, but well worth it! The food was fabulous....
Wednesday was a busy day, after the Luncheon, we went to a Farewell Cocktail Party at Barney and Sally's, who will be heading home at the end of this month.
Snowbirds from Maine, we are the only ones who will be here until end of April.
At 7PM, I headed over to the Clubhouse, where the monthly Book Club Group was meeting to discuss "The Postmistress", by Sarah Blake.
I recommend this read, but there were a few in the group that did not enjoy it as I did.
It was a very fun day, but exhausting. We were both tired, but for different reasons:)

Tuesday, March 22nd, while Guy was volunteering at the Elks, I was out gallivanting again....this time Carol H and I went to the movies..."The King's Speech" was fantastic! afterwards we stopped at the Sunset Diner for dinner. The temp was still in the 70's with a warm breeze, watching the stunning Florida sunset ended another great day.

Monday, March 21st, we had Marcy and Arnie over for cocktails and appetizers. Guy made his famous Escargot which everyone (but me) enjoyed and raved about! It was a really fun evening, sharing it with our Canadian friends who will also be leaving at the end of the month.

Sunday, March 20th, we attended a Pickle Ball clinic. This game is similar to tennis, but played with a paddle and wiffle ball. It was fun but we both soon learned how out of shape we are.....I need lots of practice on serving the ball, but I think we will enjoy it.

Saturday, March 19th.

Thursday, March 17th
St. Patrick's Day.
Was guest of Kay Hughes at the monthly Newcomers Luncheon Meeting.
I decided to join the group so I could get more involved in the outside Community . This Brevard County group meets once a month, and has social functions for the spouses also. Like I need something else to do!! Oh well, you can never have too many friends!
That evening we joined friends at Milligan's Reef in the Cove.
They were serving free Corned Beef & Cabbage, Shepherd's Pie and Irish Soda Bread. Green beer for $1.00 was also served.
A local Police & Fireman's Bagpipe group came to entertain.

Thursday, March 10th Marcy and I drove over to Melbourne to attend a Quilt Show. Afterwards we had lunch and did a little leisurely shoppping..
It was a wonderful Quilt Show with Art Displays
meanwhile, Guy was hosting the 1500 Club at our place...
That evening we were invited next door for dinner and a movie with our neighbors.

Tuesday, 8th, Carol L and I found a new Quilt Shop in Cocoa Village, then had lunch at a quaint little Amish Cafe.

Sunday the 6th, we were invited to an Appreciation Lunch at the Elks Club. Guy volunteers at the Elks every Tuesday night, helping with the weekly dinners, which raises money to help the local community.

Geeze, I'm worn out just reading about your busy month! But it sure looks like you guys know how to have fun . . . lots of eating out with friends . . . means less cooking and dishes in your kitchen!
