Thursday evening, at 5:30, a Rocket Atlas was scheduled to be launched from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base. We gathered over at "F" Bldg. to view the launch and have drinks and appies with Marcie and Arnie. When the scheduled event was to take place, we all gathered on the deck to watch the countdown run the clock down and ended up a "no go". In the meantime, several people were milling around, sharing drinks, food and stories. We enjoyed great food with the McCallum's and left with plans to come back the following evening to watch the rescheduled flight.
This time we supplies the appetizers and Guy made his specialty ......."Escargot"....Again, the project was scrubbed because of heavy cloud cover, but we continued on with the partying.....
The new launch date is for next week, so it will give us all a chance to recover ...
Saturday, it was Beach Cleanup day....turned out it was "Ladies Day", the men all had other pressing issues to deal with, so Carol, Kay, Marie and I took the project on by ourselves.
Kay is the one who is always willing to jump down and clean underneath the
boardwalks.....
Sometimes the trip back up is a challenge!
Met the resident turtle on our way back up from the beach....
Sunday, we joined Kay and Dick at the Pier for a fantastic brunch....
Beach was full of sun worshippers, surfers and people who will be lobster red in the morning.....
When we got back to the Condo, Larry and Diane, friends from Madison, Maine stopped by to visit. They are staying at a resort just down the road from us...our schedules finally allowed us to get together for a short visit.
After they left, the "march of the ships" began.
Sunday is a busy day in the Port.....3 ships left, Royal Caribbean's "Freedom of the Seas", Carnival "Sensation" and Disney's "Dream"
We took these from our balcony....look at the perception of the ships behind the buildings.....they are so huge a couple of them tower over the condos.
