Penn State Game & End of Season Boating Party

Last weekend, Guy and son Rick took their annual trek to Penn. for a Penn State Football game. Steve Matsko is a proud alumni and gets the tickets for them, Steve and Linda host the Linscott fellas for the weekend and they have a ball. First duty is to stop and pickup fresh Maine Lobsters for their Friday night feast. Looks like they have plenty of food to go around.
The game between Penn State and Illinois this year was a night game, so it was a long day for them, but they wouldn't have missed it for the world...By the way....Penn State won 38-24!!!

Father and Son wore white shirts because it was a "white out" night....

Hey Guy...do you remember where I parked the car??

What a sight...everyone wore white...The boys said it was "electrifying"....
This weekend we hosted the End of Boating Season Party....Everyone has already or about to pull their vessels for the season...not a happy event, so we decided to celebrate the past season with a party!
Everyone seems to gather in the kitchen...and for good reason...that's where all the food was!

These past couple of months, Guy tried...to grow himself a mustache....Bill Smith, eager to spur him on, said he couldn't do it. A bet followed and the race for the mustache began! After about 5 weeks of grooming, combing, trying his best to grow the damn thing, he gave up and shaved all that peach fuzz hair off that was beneath his nose.

Not that "we" would ever make fun of good ol' Guy.....we decided to wear mustaches during the party.......We laughed ourselves silly for the rest of the afternoon....and isn't this what it's all about? Laughter is the best medicine, and we all felt better when it was time to go home.

Sunday started out as a half-way decent day, so a group of us from the Marina decided to go up to South Freeport and have lunch at the Harraskette Marina. It's about an hour away by sea...the sun was shinning, a little on the chilly side, but still nice. We were excited to see some foliage, but disappointed when there was very little. I guess it's still a little early for this area, but in another week or two, it should be spectacular.
After making sure everyone was secured at the float, we walked up the dock to order lunch.

Tony splurged on a lobster feast, Bill, Kathy, Guy and I shared some wonderful Fried Clams, onion rings and clam cakes....Yummy....

OH NO!!! Someone dropped crumbs on Bill's boat.....Shame on them:(

The ride home was quite chilly, so Bill buttoned up the curtains and we were protected from the cool wind...and still able to enjoy the scenery. This little house is the only one on this private little Island. What a view they have....

The clouds grew darker and we got a few drops of rain, but not enough to spoil our fun.
It was an enjoyable afternoon...good food...good friends...good times....
