It was fun to be able to stop along the way to see things of interest. We had no reservations, so our time was our own.
Driving along, I was able to shout "I see a Quilt Shop" and Guy whirled into the driveway so I could go investigate. "Island Threads" was the name of the shop at Pawley's Island and it was real neat. I bought a jelly roll of nautical prints and a pattern book, so that satisfied my quilting passion for a little bit. Right next door was a Foot Long Hot Dog place, so that satisfied Guy's love of hot dogs...so you might say we killed two birds with one stone (tee hee)
Turned off the main highway and checked out Pawley's Point....the pictures look like snow (God forbid!) but it isn't....The sand is so white...the winds have pushed it right up against the walkways. Not very many people around, but I can imagine it must be a bustling area in the summertime. Very quaint.
The temps are the coolest we've experienced for awhile....good thing we didn't pack those jackets too deep in our suitcases.....
As we were driving down the highway we saw this beautiful mansion....a small sign to the right of it (which I missed in this picture) simply says "The Smith Home"..... We checked into the Holiday Inn at Broadway on the Beach. There will be lots of things to look at tomorrow.....Tonight we went to the Carolina Opry.....It was magnificient!!
These dancers were the finalists on "America's Got Talent" a few seasons ago. Their group is "All That" and were fantastic...I remember seeing them on TV...
