2008 Maine Quilt Show

My passion is Quilting
I could never quilt too much...
My good friend (and fellow quilter), Rita and I headed up to Augusta
on Friday morning to see the Maine Quilt Show.
We were like 2 little kids, so excited to see what was there this year
and new from last years exhibts.
Just loved this pattern...

Look at all the detail in this quilt...I wonder how
many hours it took her to do it....perfect!

Handwork was unbelievable

Wish my points could come out like this one!

Beautiful Sampler

a Maine scene
Picture doesn't do it justice

White on White
This had to be the best one I saw
I could never imagine doing something so beautiful as this
Awesome detail
Log Cabin...one of my all time favorite patterns

Colors are so well blended

And now for the whimsical ones...
For those who don't know the rules of quilting...
You should never touch a quilt on show without
wearing white gloves...
As you can see, these little girls did and now are
in trouble!
I have this pattern and it's on my list of ones to do...
Adorable!
For all those husbands that got dragged to the show....

Witch's brew....

One for Florida...
Rita and I spent almost 4 hours at the show and enjoyed every second. After relaxing at a leisurely lunch, we headed up to Waterville to shop at one of our favorite fabric places....Marden's....
It was a great day:) and we both headed home with visions of our next projects spinning in our heads.

Fresh and Free!

Last Sunday one of our boating friends, who is also a lobsterman,
came over and asked Guy if he'd like some lobster!!
Well, is the Pope, Catholic?
He said to take as many as he wanted, and not wanting to appear
too greedy, Guy took 4 of them...
They don't get any fresher than this!
All lined up on the counter and ready for the pot!
Guy hypnotized them....all sitting pretty on the table....
In they go....

out they come...

We decided to bake stuff 2 of them for dinner and
save the other two for lobster rolls the next day....
After cutting them down the middle, he rinses them out...

and stuffs them with the minced clam stuffing mix I made....

into the oven is the next step

and now...a wonderful dinner...
Here's to Russ ...thanks so much:)
After dinner, Meg and Eva dropped in to see what was going on...
After feeling the Lobster, Eva decided they were OK....
Here I am!

Now I'm all gone..........

Pizza on the Grill....

Jenn & Ryan have been promising to make their specialty, Pizza on the Grill, all week long.
Finally on Friday they delivered.Jenn slicing fresh pineapple
Lots of fresh dough from the Bakery...white and wheat

a little flour, a little kneading....

a little stretching....

Oh Jenn! your a pro:)

rolling out the dough

placing it on the tray, ready to be grilled

Now it's Ryan's turn...with a little help from GF
A bad thunderstorm rolled through the area, so an umbrella was kneaded (tee hee...I mean, needed to keep the dough dry.
Now, who was the clown that passed him that daisy umbrella?

The grill has to be good n' hot for this to work!

Look at all those crazy shapes...

Back inside, it was Jenn's turn again...
some sauce, a little oregano

some cheese
more cheese...

and then the good stuff...the toppings!
This one was ham and pineapple...
still making them as fast as she can!
Hurry Jenn...hurry!!
we're pretty hungry!!
GF had to be different....she made him a pepperoni pizza and then he wanted
anchovies!!!
YUK!!!
No one would even touch this pizza, so GF had to make it all by himself....
How are you doing Ryan??

The rain is not letting up, so she decides to cook the rest in the oven where it's dry...

How did I do???

Pretty good, if I say so myself!

Andrew & Julie agree

Now you've seen people trying to drive and talk and their cell phone......
BUT
have you ever seen anyone trying to cut their pizza and talk on their cell phone???
He didn't even miss a beat....
Julie's taking the leftovers home for Paul (who's working overtime) and
Meg (who's volunteering at the Hospital)
Saturday morning, they took us out to breakfast and then headed down to
Rhode Island for an afternoon wedding.
I think they enjoyed the week
I know we enjoyed having them
Come back and see us again soon.....
