Happy Halloween!

Harry Potter alias Nichole, came over to say good-bye early Halloween morning as we headed down the road to Florida. Julie, Andrew & Paul also stopped over for final hugs, kisses and well wishes. We should have taken pictures of the Van as we headed down the driveway...I was at the wheel and feeling quite uncomfortable as we were heavy on the back axels. At Kennebunk Rest Area we pulled in and completely unpacked and repacked the wagon...this time evenly distributing the weight. (...a perfect Kodak moment, but not the foresight again)

We traveled 441 miles the first day, staying in Abescon, NJ arriving about 5PM. It was the end of daylight savings time, so we lucked out getting an extra hours sleep! We went through 6 States (ME, NH, MA., CT. NY and NJ)

Sunday we were up early to catch the Cape May ferry over to Lewes, DE. It was cold, windy and rainy:( Long, uneventful ride to Lumberton, NC where we lay our weary bones down that night. 4 States that day (DE, MD, VA & NC) 469 miles today

Monday, another cold and miserable day.. 301 miles. Short driving day..stayed in St. Simons Island, Ga. 2 States..(SC & GA) Pulled in early afternoon with time to do a little sightseeing and decided it might be a place we'd like to come back to visit when we had more time.

Tuesday...485 Miles Ga to FL. Stopped in to see Joyce and Jerry Betz in Port Orange, where Joyce had a lovely lunch waiting for us. We visited for about an hour and then anxiously on our way "home" to Cape Canaveral!

The skies had cleared, it was warm and sunny...a nice welcoming. And now for the fun part...unloading the Van! Thankfully Jim Campbell was here with his little truck on wheels which made it so much easier to load our gear onto and bring up to the 5th floor.
