Quilting & Shop Hops

My Quilting Buddies, Rita and Charlene and myself spent many hours on the road this Summer and Fall doing "Shop Hops".  We traveled up North and we traveled down South, checking out Quilting shops all over Maine.
We quilted, we sewed, we giggled and laughed,  working on various projects.
Shop Hops are so much fun!  We get great new ideas......see new products....watch Demos and always manage to find a great new restaurant and enjoy lunch together.

                                   Celebrating Charlene's Birthday.....
We call ourselves the "3 Blanketeers"...Our main focus is working for Project Linus.  Local businesses sometimes sponser a Blanket Day , where several times a year we join together for a day of sewing (or knitting) blankets.  They will usually provide lunch for us while we toil away on our machines.  I recently read that we provided 700 blankets for the children in New Town, Conn.  It gave me such a nice feeling to think that maybe one of my quilts are giving comfort to some child.
