I remember the day they brought him home.....
it was 16+ years ago....
he was so energetic, nothing but a big fluff ball!
so full of mischief, dragging around the kids mittens, hats, anything he could chew on....loving us all unconditionally..
he was my Grandog, and he was such a part of my life for all those years.
I brought him to the Vet, I brought him on walks, I babysat him when the Family was out of town...I always had a box of biscuits and a bag of tennis balls for him when he came to visit.
And now he is gone...
I miss him...
he was my friend...
The last day of his life, Julie and Paul brought him to the Vet.
he had a brain tumor...
they could have prolonged his life, but chose quality over quanity.
the right decision to make.
They brought him home to say goodbye to his Family
for those who loved him.
He did all of his favorite things that last day....
he swam, he chased rocks and sticks in the water
he had ice cream
and peanut butter
and M&M's
That's why we call you Man's Best Friend
because you were....
Good-bye good buddy....

I'm so sorry Joni . . . we have been blessed to have a golden retriever in our life for over 14 years. They truly are a member of your family and loosing them hurts deeply.
Joni, your words are beautiful. You have made us feel exactly what your beautiful pet has meant to you and the family for so many years.
Awww.. Farewell Zeus. You were a great doggie!
This is beautiful, Joni.
