Girls Gone Wild Week in Island Falls

I got home from Meg's Graduation late Sunday night,

got up Monday, repacked and headed up to Island Falls for a

girls week...this time titled "Girls Gone Wild...

Charlene found a Timeshare in Island Falls, Maine...

so when we found out the location, knew GGW was the perfect name for a week in the wild....

Vacationland Estates turned out to be a lovely knotty pine, comfortable place....in the middle of nowhere, but so peaceful....

Kitchen had all the comforts of home....
Living room, where we quickly setup our sewing machines,
dragged out our fabric and settled in...

Limited TV Channels, but all we really needed to watch was the news...oh! and all of Charlene's special shows....Idol, Glee, Dancing with the Stars..
(guess we didn't have to rough it after all)

grounds were perfectly manicured, with a cute little gazebo in the background.

Heated pool, spa, sauna, game room, card room, library..just a

few of the amenities offered....

Once we figured out how to turn the Hot Tub on,

we enjoyed it....

Swimming became our daily ritual...

and we usually had the whole place to ourselves....

Wednesday we drove up to Houlton to visit Charlene's

93 year old Aunt. What a delight she was...still living all

on her own, going to the Ballet, driving herself all around town.

What a gal!

Everyone in surrounding areas frequent this popular eating spot.

It was highly recommended and worth the drive....

Doggie bags, please....

Haddock and Shrimp dinner..ate it for 3 meals....

Fresh Fiddleheads were on the menu...and they were delicious

sprinkled with a little vinegar....yummy:)

I left Friday morning because I had a Birthday Party to attend in SoPo...

Charlene cooked us all a big breakfast...Scrambled eggs, pancakes with blueberry sauce, bacon and fresh coffee....

It was a fun week..quite relaxing...
