What a find! 2 can tabs and a chapstick! I tried to talk Melinda into throwing one of her diamond earrings into the sand to see if he could find it, but she wasn't game for that.....
Pretty soon, cloud cover appeared and we all headed back to the condo for lunch. Thankfully, he was there to help us all bring it back upstairs....what a good Guy he is....It always seems to happen this way.....we go out, we set up, the sun goes in, we come back inside and and then the sun comes out again...
After lunch we were determined to do some surfin'...so we took the boogie board Julie left and went out to play in the ocean for a while. The seas were running every couple of seconds, so there wasn't time enough to really do any "surfing", but we had a great time in spite of it. The water temp was about 73 degrees....it was wonderful:)
That's Mel way out there...paddling away...
Guy was getting pretty bored by now, so he talked us into going over to Cocoa to the Mardi Gras. We showered, got all dressed up and headed there....except the ... Mardi Gras's festivities were only going to be celebrated on Saturday and Sunday. The only thing setup was the carnival and a few booths...
We walked around the little village, checking out the few shops that were open.
Mel stopped and checked out the beads...she was looking for something different to add to a friends collection.....nothing there....
Now there's a cool car for Grandfather....let's pose him in front of it....Hey, Guy, don't put your hand on the handle...the alarms will go off and you'll spend the night in the slammer!!
OK...that didn't work out...what will we do now??? Might as well head to "Coconuts", get a bite to eat and something to drink...
There's a real good band playing tonight...A Father and his 2 sons...Son who is 17 is on the drums and the other, who is 15 is on the base guitar...They did a great job and the place was hoppin'
Saturday was a fun day for Guy. He left at 10:30, heading to Kissimmee to see the Astros vs Washington Nationals with Steve Matsko and his old college friend Chip. He dropped Mel and I off at Ron Juan's to do a little shopping. ..(no car, so we were on foot for the duration..) from there we went to Cocoa Beach Surf Shop.
It was time to feed the fish in their aquarium, quite interesting!
From there to Bell's Outlet, stopping along the way in other little shops. We were still 2 miles away from our Condo and the wind was howling..but thankfully the temps were warm. We were getting hungry and thirsty and so stopped at "Mambo's", a little Tiki bar for some refreshment.
We didn't get home until 3:30 and were exhausted from our long shopping and walking adventure. Guy got home at 6;30 and had a great time...he needed to get away from us ladies for a bit.
